The Carrollton Police Department in Texas finally captured a woman who claimed to have tested positive for coronavirus and said she was purposely spreading it.
The eighteen-year-old girl is called Lorraine Maradiaga. According to the Facebook page of the aforementioned police department, she was reported to the competent authorities for carrying out a terrorist threat.
Indeed, people who intentionally spread the dangerous deadly virus may be guilty of a terrorist act for exposing others to the coronavirus outbreak, the Justice Department recently warned in a memo as it was considered within the definition of a biological agent.
Attorney General Jeffry Rosen said "Threats or attempts to use Covid-19 as a weapon against Americans will not be tolerated."
Although the police do not yet know for sure whether Lorain Maradiaga is truly a public threat or not in the midst of the virulent Covid-19 outbreak, what they do claim is that they are taking very seriously the posts that the young woman is publishing in her networks.
In the state of Texas, more than 7,000 cases of coronavirus sufferers and some 140 deaths have been reported so far. Just yesterday, Monday, the new cases reported were 464, an increase of seven percent from Sunday. Six new counties found positive cases and more than half of the state's 254 counties have reported at least one case.
