Two suspects were arrested as the alleged perpetrators of the relentless cyber bullying that apparently led young Brandy Vela to kill herself last year.

Almost four months after his death, authorities arrested Andrés Arturo Villagomez, 21, and Karinthya Sánchez Romero, 22, both from Galveston, Texas, according to a Texas City police press release.

Villagomez was charged with illegal disclosure or promotion of intimate visual material and is in jail on bail from the other's arrested partner, is charged with online identity theft and will have to pay bail on offensive charges about his weight and appearance. The pages were allegedly deleted after they were reported, but were re-created days later. In these profiles, reference was made to the fact that the young woman offered “sex for free”.

After experiencing a huge tragedy, the Vela family promised to bring the digital torturers of their loved one to justice and decided to do everything possible for anyone to kill themselves due to cyber bullying.

"We couldn't save Brandy," said Jackie. "But we can try to save another person."

Following Thursday's arrests, Jackie thanked People for the authorities. “We really hope they get the maximum charge. We will never get Brandy back, but this gives us some peace of mind.”
