Two Killed In Creepy Homicide-suicide In New York

Another murder-suicide has affected New York City.

A man shot and killed his ex-girlfriend and wounded his new boyfriend inside his Brooklyn apartment on Wednesday before committing suicide.

Police say they were notified of gunshots inside a Flatlands apartment on Utica Avenue around 2 p.m. Sunday. Officers arrived at the scene, finding Darnell Solomon, 30, and Jened Duncan, 24, with gunshot wounds to the head. A 33-year-old man was also found with a shot to the chest, but is expected to survive.

Duncan and Solomon were taken to the Kings County Hospital, where they were pronounced dead, police said.

A New York police spokesman says Solomon allegedly shot Duncan. Police did not immediately confirm the identity of the injured man, but neighbors say he is Duncan's new boyfriend.

The incident is the city's third murder-suicide in recent days. New York Police say almost all murder and suicide victims are women killed by their partners, and typically 2 out of 3 have never had prior domestic violence contacts with the police.

On Friday, a 27-year-old woman was stabbed to death and her husband was found hanging from a tree in a swamp near the home. Dinhwar Budhidat, 33, murdered his 27-year-old wife at their home in the Ozone Park neighborhood in South Queens.

Last week, a 5-year-old girl and her parents were found dead in an apartment in Harlem. Abaynesh Schlecht Tedla was found in bed with her throat cut. Her mother Jennifer Schlecht was found decapitated in a bathroom. His father, Yonathan Tedla, was discovered hanging in another room.

Authorities believe he killed the two before killing himself, but circumstances remain under investigation.
