Carmen Salinas 80 Years In The Same Bed

After 80 years of Carmen Salinas' life, her story is full of anecdotes, important experiences, but also painful moments. Yet she remembers with pride all the good that has happened to her; therefore, she wanted to share an important secret: she has always had the same bed!

"I sleep in the bedroom that was my mother's, because that was the bedroom in which we were born," Salinas revealed to the Mexican newspaper El Universal. “Before [in Mexico], she didn't deal with going to hospitals, the midwife [midwife] helped children to be born.

The actress lived with deficiencies that increased when her parents separated. Despite this, she always sought to help her family and, although she could not fulfill her mother's promise to buy her a house, she has helped her seven brothers to own their own property or remodel it so that they can be in a decent home.

“My mother paid 25 [pesos, $ 1.50] in rent. At the age of nine, my parents separated, what I earned, I always gave to my mother,”he said. "I remember that at that time I told him 'when I grow up, I will buy it and I will give it to everyone who lives here.' Sadly I did not manage to fulfill that wish”.

Carmen Salinas believes that her good health is due to the fact that she has always been dedicated to work. Thanks to his profession he was able to cope with the death of his son Pedro Plascencia, but he will have the pain of that loss forever.

"I've never had vices and that gives me peace of mind and health," he said. “Many people, when they lose a loved one, take refuge in vices, I took refuge in work. When you lose a child or the parents it is the greatest sadness”.
