Pennsylvania Walmart Bed Bugs

Police in Washington Township, Pennsylvania, are looking for him or those responsible for releasing bedbugs inside a Walmart store that were found swarming around a store dressing room.

One of the managers confessed that last week employees found a bottle of pills with the insects inside. The bottle was hidden in the pocket of a boys jacket that was in a men's locker room, according to NBC News.

In that instance they simply decided to dispose of the bottle and did not call the authorities. On Friday employees of the specialized Ecolab laboratories went to the store and found insects inside the dressing room that were later identified as Cimex lectularius, that is, bedbugs.

The next day, employees found a bottle with more bedbugs on the floor of the same men's clothing department. In that second incident, the warehouse authorities finally decided to call the police, as confirmed by the AP agency.

Authorities are now inspecting the fingerprints on both bottles to try to identify the person or persons responsible for what happened. For their part, Walmart spokesmen say they are taking things very seriously.

According to entomologists, bedbugs can live without feeding for many days, are extremely resistant and reproduce quickly. And when they do, they can infest a place in no time, generating huge expenses, which in the case of a business are losses: cleaning a single bedbug-infested room costs between $ 200 and $ 1,500 when you employ a professional exterminator.
