A Delaware woman who thought she couldn't have children says she unexpectedly gave birth in the bathroom without showing any symptoms before delivery.

Carla Collazo, 37, says she had tried to have children for years, but had succeeded. But the way his “miracle” happened, he has forged a lifelong emotional bond between Carla Collazo and her sister-in-law Alexandra Santos, who helped her bring her baby into the world in a bath on August 25.

“It happened so fast that everything came out, so now she has a placenta in her hand and I have a baby in my hand. She is going crazy. I'm telling you we have a baby. We have to save her, Santos explained to the Fox network.

The baby was a surprise girl because nobody, not even the mother knew she was pregnant. "I was in shock, only in shock," said Collazo.

Collazo suffers from polycystic ovaries, a gynecological condition that can cause infertility. According to the new mom, doctors told her that her condition would likely prevent her from getting pregnant.

And the symptoms?

He didn't think about his swollen ankles because he works on his feet for hours. She had been tested for pregnancy several times, but everything came back negative and she did not gain weight.

After feeling severe pain in her stomach and back, her sister-in-law, who was with her, was about to take her to the emergency room, but Collazo went to the bathroom first. It was when she started screaming and realized she would give birth.

Paramedics told Santos by phone what to do next until they managed to get Amoura Rose out alive.

"I tied it to the umbilical cord as tightly as I could," Santos said. "It was so precious. She was looking at me and I was looking her in the eye.”
