Rapper Nicki Minaj has her fans baffled after announcing to general surprise that she has decided to withdraw from music.

In a message on her Twitter account, the 36-year-old interpreter announced her decision and her desire to start a family far from the stage.

“I have decided to retire and have a family. I know you will be happy now, "he wrote. "To my fans, continue to represent me, do it until my death … I love you for life."

In June, the interpreter revealed that with her boyfriend Kenneth Zoo Petty they had obtained a marriage license, but did not clarify if she was engaged or married.

"We did get our marriage license," she said on her Queen Radio radio show. “I think what I wanted was simply happiness. It was very difficult to get to a happy place. Now that I'm [happy], I don't want to compromise that for anyone or anything.”

The song “Zanies and Fool” he released in July seemed to hint that he had married and was in sweet wait. "He is my Bonnie's Clyde, about to walk to the altar and be a mom," reads the lyrics of the song. In addition, he drew attention to the fact that he seemed to give a timeline of the rapper's relationship with his new love, pointing out that they have known each other since she was 17 years old.

Days before the unexpected announcement, the hip hop star changed the name of his Twitter profile from Miss Minaj to Lady Petty after revealing that he renewed his marriage license, since it had expired because of his travels he had not had time to go to pick it up before its 90-day term expires.

According to TMZ, Petty has a long criminal history, including a seven-year prison sentence for involuntary manslaughter and sexual assault charges.
