An Instagram model is behind bars after being caught for allegedly running a child prostitution ring and recruiting young girls to serve famous clients.

Liliana del Carmen Campos Puello, alias La Madame, is on trial in Cartagena, where prosecutors say the pimp established the headquarters of the juvenile prostitution network along with 17 other people, newspaper El Tiempo reported.

Authorities arrested the Colombian at her apartment in the luxurious Bocagrande area of Cartagena on July 29 in the operation called "Vesta" by the Prosecutor's Office.

Among the horrors that minors from the most vulnerable population of Cartagena supposedly had to endure were getting tattoos from their “owners,” attending sex parties on yachts and luxury hotels. Many of these young women were seduced with money since they had no option for education or better circumstances to overcome poverty.

Campos Puello, 48, reportedly recruited up to 400 girls, many with limited means, to serve high-profile clients, including celebrities and politicians.

Although prostitution is legal in Colombia, the “Woman with a Hoarse Voice” as she is also known, maintains that all the young women she recruited were of legal age and did not traffic minors.

The defendant not only had to get rich at the expense of the minors, she also flaunted the fruits of her work. In several snapshots published on social networks, the woman appears posing with amounts of cash, luxury wallets, and resting on private yachts.

But this is not the first time that Campos Puello has gone to jail for a crime. In 2002, she was sentenced by the New York federal court to two years and seven months in prison for heroin distribution, according to the file obtained by the El Tiempo newspaper. She then obtained five years of probation and was deported to Colombia.
