What must have been a fun afternoon for two couples ended in tragedy. A double date of friendly couples ended in the death of two men in Texas after an argument between them. At around 3:15 am Sunday, officials from the Harris County Sheriff's Office answered a call for a shooting at a house in Huffman.

Upon arriving at the home they found Austin Smith, 27, shot dead, lying on the pavement at the entrance to the house, where the cars are parked. He was just a few feet from his truck. Shortly before, Smith and his girlfriend had gone out to ride four-tracks with their friends Cogby Rigsby, 32, and his girlfriend, who live on the same street.

When Rigsby started fighting with his girlfriend, Smith stepped in, which ended in a fight between the men outside Rigsby's house. When Rigsby pulled out a gun, Smith, his girlfriend, and Rigsby's partner all ran out and left the scene.

Shortly after, Smith returned to pick up his four-track and was uploading it to his trailer at his home, which is down the street from Rigby's home, when Rigsby shot and killed him, according to police.

When officers got to speak to Rigsby, who had locked himself in his home, they heard another shot and found that the killer had committed suicide. The case remains under investigation.
