Amanda Ramírez's mother, the young Hispanic woman accused of stabbing her twin sister Anna Ramírez in New Jersey, breaks the silence. Amanda and her twin sister Anna, 27, were inseparable until last June 21 a fight between them ended in tragedy. According to police, when officers arrived at Camden's apartment shared by the sisters, they found Anna's body on the floor with a bloody chest. The young woman was stabbed and died after being rushed to a nearby hospital.

According to a police report obtained by PEOPLE, Anna started "a physical fight with [Amanda], hitting her in the face." Amanda allegedly told authorities that her sister had entered the house, had grabbed a knife and threatened her. "Amanda Ramírez stated that she struggled with her sister to remove the knife and ended up stabbing her sister in the chest," the report details.

Authorities reported seeing bloody footprints next to Anna's body and Amanda allegedly had blood on her clothes. Anna's violent death and Amanda's arrest took many by surprise. The mother of both is still in shock. Ivelisse Class spoke to PEOPLE about the relationship their daughters had. "They loved each other," he told the magazine. “They were together from birth. They went out together with the children, they drove together to work, they were a team.”

The motive for the alleged murder has not yet been revealed, but according to the investigation, drinking alcohol influenced the sisters' strong confrontation. Amanda was taken to the Camden County Jail, where she is in police custody to determine if she will be eligible to be released on bail. The violent event has destroyed the mother of the twins. "When you lose a child, you can't sleep," Class told PEOPLE. "You wish everything was a nightmare and you could wake up."
