The honeymoon of a Hispanic couple in Illinois ended in a bloody murder. Arnoldo Jiménez, 37, is on the FBI's list of the 10 most wanted fugitives. He offers a missing person's reward and was caring for his two children, whom he never looked for.
On May 15, 2012, Jiménez was charged with the murder of his young wife. Although an arrest warrant was issued against him, the man fled before being prosecuted by law.
“She was a loving daughter, sister, friend and, above all, a great mother. Her children need justice for their mother,”said Jazmín Carrera, the victim's sister, at an FBI press conference. "They shouldn't be spending Mother's Day at a mass dedicated to her or sending flowers to the cemetery."
The couple married on May 11, 2012 at the Chicago City Hall. Although they joined their lives in marriage, authorities have reported that they had a volatile relationship and that Jiménez has a violent personality. "We know that nothing will bring Estrella back, but at least we could have some kind of peace knowing that Arnoldo is paying for his crime," added his sister.
According to the FBI, Jiménez could have fled to Mexico, specifically to Durango, in the Santiago Papasquiaro area, and that he may also have gone to Reynosa, Tamaulipas. The alleged killer has black hair, brown eyes, is 6 feet tall, and weighs between 200 and 225 pounds.
If you have any information about Jiménez or his whereabouts, please call 1-800-CALL-FBI (1-800-225-5324) or the Chicago FBI Office at (312) 421-6700.
