An Arizona woman was arrested by Maricopa, Arizona, police officers after abusing and mistreating seven adopted children.
According to the investigators, Machelle Hackney, who had her YouTube channel with thousands of subscribers, chastised the little ones every time they forgot their lines or made a mistake.
Every time the minors did not follow their instructions, the 48-year-old woman sprayed them with pepper spray, locked them in closets without food, water, and access to the bathroom.
It was on March 13 when Hackney's biological daughter alerted the police. Upon arriving home, the agents found the little ones with low weight, pronounced dark circles, pale and thirsty, to the point that one of them drank three bottles of water in just 20 minutes.
The police statement indicates that the adoptive mother of the minors had withdrawn them from school for years to record the series he promoted on YouTube, Fantastic Adventures.
The statement also indicates that one of the minors claimed that Hackney sprayed his private parts with pepper spray.
Following the arrest of Machelle, who will have to appear in court on March 26, the Department of Children's Services (DSC) has taken custody of the children.
For its part, YouTube closed the women's video channel for violating the guidelines of the community.
