Laquisa Jones, the woman who beat Rodolfo Rodríguez, a 91-year-old Mexican man last July, with a brick beating, will have to spend 15 years in prison.

The 30-year-old woman was sentenced Thursday in Los Angeles County Superior Court after being accused of elder abuse and causing injuries, plus aggravated charges of using a deadly weapon. The attack was also branded as a hate crime.

When sentenced, the woman remained behind her lawyer and did not refute the charges, according to multiple sources.

The shocking episode that occurred last July went viral when caught on video by a neighbor who was passing by the scene of the attack.

In the clip Jones is seen walking accompanied by a minor and yelling at the old man to “go back” to his home in Mexico.

The Michoacán-born man had to be hospitalized after the attack, resulting in several broken ribs, loss of vision in the right eye and a fractured cheekbone.

The incident occurred in Willowbrook, south of the Californian city while Rodríguez was taking his customary walk through the streets of the neighborhood.

At one point in his journey Rodríguez ran into the African American who was with a girl of approximately four years. The woman accused the old man of brushing against the minor and that caused his fury.

"Who could do this to an [almost] 92-year-old man?" Lamented Erik Mendoza, the victim's grandson, in an interview with CNN at the time. The boy established a fund on GoFundme to help his grandfather.
