A 20-year-old is missing after falling off a Royal Caribbean cruise ship at Christmas. The United States Coast Guard announced Wednesday that they are looking for Arron Hough, a young man who was working on the Harmony of the Seas cruise ship as a dancer and singer and fell overboard, disappearing into the sea.
Hough is a citizen of the United Kingdom and disappeared about 267 miles northwest of Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, according to the coastguard statement. A Royal Caribbean spokesperson told PEOPLE that "a member of the entertainment team on board the Harmony of the Seas on the way to Philipsburg, St. Maarten, did not report to work as expected."
The spokesperson added that after reviewing the videos of the ship, they saw the employee entering an area on the ship's deck at around 4 am and then did not see him again. Local authorities were alerted and a search was carried out throughout the ship. Coastguards in San Juan, Puerto Rico, were also notified of Hough's disappearance and continue to search for him by sea and by air.
The Harmony of the Seas cruise - which began its journey last Sunday in Fort Lauderdale - continues its seven-day journey through the Caribbean. Days before the tragic incident, Hough said on Twitter: "There is beauty under the water … Always look below the surface before making a decision."
