A 24-year-old young mother was shot in the head when she was talking to her mother on the phone and next to her baby, just 5 days old. The horrible tragedy happened in Philadelphia and now the woman's partner has surrendered to the authorities after being identified as the main person responsible for the crime.

The events took place last Friday around 4:00 am when Isis Williams was at her home located at 6300 North Woodstock Street, in the Logan neighborhood. The authorities received a call reporting gunshots and when they arrived at the woman's home, they found her lifeless, with a shot to the head and prostrated next to her newborn's crib.

According to Scott Small, chief of inspectors for the Philadelphia Police, the baby was only a foot away from her mother when the shooting occurred. The minor was immediately taken to precinct number 35 where she was received by personnel from the Department of Human Services and was later transported to St. Christopher's hospital for evaluation, according to the local chain WPVI.

At the time of the fatal shooting, the victim was on the phone with her mother, according to the aforementioned chain. "His mom heard the shots," explained Aspara Agyeman, the victim's aunt. Williams was the mother of two other children and had just returned home after giving birth.

After the discovery, the police hunted down the boyfriend of Tyrese Lynch, 33, when he was identified as the main suspect in the murder. Finally, this Monday at noon the ex-boyfriend of the deceased surrendered to the authorities, ending this intense drama.

Unfortunately, the case appears to be one more of domestic violence, as detailed on a page created on GoFundMe to help the victim's relatives, the relationship between Williams and Lynch was "abusive". Traces of a brawl with overturned furniture and much disorder remained in the victim's home.

According to neighbors, before the death of the young mother, a violent and heated discussion was heard from inside the apartment. "He was saying a lot of insults to her," said Melvina Hall, a neighbor of the place. "It sounded very loud."

Relatives and friends of the victim would carry out a tribute in his memory on Monday.
