A residence in Newark, New Jersey, turned into hell for a 3-year-old boy, who was systematically punished by his mother and five roommates with belt bumps and pouring hot water, according to authorities.

According to the Essex County District Attorney's Office, cited by the Daily News, Natacha Smith, 43, and the other five adults with whom she shared residence beat with a belt and with the hands of her son, who was also burned with hot water as a method of punishment.

All six were arrested Tuesday, and the following day were charged with aggravated assault and jeopardizing the welfare of a minor.

The abuses suffered by the child since at least last July represented a "coordinated and systematic beating", according to the prosecution. According to the NJ. Com portal, it was from the public school that the complaint that led to the arrest of the six people was split after a short investigation.

The little one had to be hospitalized due to the severity of the wounds they presented and, after being discharged, he was in the custody of the state authorities, who put him up with some relatives.

There were also five other minors between the ages of 1 and 7 in the home, who apparently had not been victims of abuse, who were also in the custody of the authorities.

According to sources quoted by the Daily News, Smith and her boyfriend Homer Searcy, 39, had recently moved into the apartment shared by sisters Patricia Gamarra, 62, and Mary Buchan, 55. They also lived there. Buchan's daughters: Patricia, 28, and Bridget, 23.

All were implicated in the abuses, authorities reported.
