Beatríz Gutiérrez Müller's Mother Dies

Just a couple of days after coming to power, the President of Mexico Andrés Manuel López Obrador and his family have suffered a severe blow: the death of Nora Beatriz Müller Bentjerodt, mother of the first lady, Victoria Gutiérrez Müller.

The Mexican journalist was in charge of spreading the news through her networks saying: "The night of Monday, December 3, 2018, at 10:00 p.m., our beloved Nora Beatriz, mother, grandmother and close friend, came out."

“Her good death was at home, full of peace, surrounded by love and accompanied by her children and grandchildren. We thank them for their expressions of affection and we ask them to continue sending blessings of light and love for their beautiful divine being,”Müller pointed out in her message published this Tuesday morning.

For its part, the Government of Mexico confirmed the news through a brief statement:

Until now the reasons for the death are unknown.

The 65-year-old Mexican president married the Mexican journalist and writer in 2006 and they have a son in common: Jesús Ernesto López Gutiérrez.

For his part, AMLO -as the brand-new president is known- has three more children from his first marriage: José Ramón, Andrés Manuel and Gonzalo Alfonso López Beltrán, who he fathered with his first wife, Rocío Beltrán, who died in 2003.
