A Canadian mother and her barely 10-month-old baby died from being attacked by a brown bear while they were camping in the Yukon area.

People indicate that according to a statement from the forensic investigation office obtained by CBC News, Valerie Theoret went for a walk with her daughter, Adele Roesholt, near the cabin where they were staying when the fatal attack occurred last Monday.

The bodies of the victims were found by the mother's sentimental partner, Gjermund Roesholt, who is the girl's father. The man had been out on what they call the trapline or traps, which had been located there by the family for hunting.

The People note notes that before finding his daughter and lifemate dead, Roesholt had gone to the cabin. Apparently a bear attacked him there too, but he managed to get out alive, CBC News reported. The man shot the bear, killing him. Roesholt was able to save himself, but his daughter and his partner had a fatal end.

The Global News newspaper, which reviews People, reported that the couple and the 10-month-old baby were in the Yukon area hunting animals. The area was described by the newspaper as being of great natural and wild beauty. The deceased mother was a teacher at Whitehorse Elementary, where she taught children from different grades. Even, it was said that she was a person loved by the students, the parents and the rest of the campus.
