The teddy bear looks just like any other. But for La'Quinta McKinney, a mother from Hollywood, Florida, it's very special because it contains the ashes of her daughter, La'Vea.

According to McKinney told the media, her daughter died in 2016 at just 2 months old, from what doctors determined was sudden infant death syndrome.

"All I want is to get my baby back," McKinney wrote on Facebook after discovering that while trying to move out of his apartment, someone had left with a bunch of his belongings, including the teddy bear.

The robbery happened on Monday, McKinney explains in a Facebook post. "After my daughter and I took everything out of the house, we realized it didn't fit in my truck," she wrote.

The mother continues explaining that they went to rent a commercial truck, they left some of the belongings outside the apartment and, when they returned, they discovered that someone had taken some of the items that were outside: clothes, furniture and the teddy bear that contained the ashes from La'Vea.

"They just ripped my things off as if they were theirs," McKinney told WPLG-Ch. 10. McKinney urged her Facebook friends to share her post in hopes of retrieving the teddy bear.

Hollywood police are investigating the burglary that occurred outside McKinney's apartment, the station reported.

"The bear is more than a bear," he told WFOR-Ch. 4. "She is my daughter. My daughter's remains are in it."

McKinney alleged that she is not interested in filing charges and that she only wants whoever has the bear to return it to the Hollywood Police Department, she told the station.
