A woman celebrating her 30th birthday and her three sisters are among the 20 victims left by the fatal limo crash in a town in upstate New York.

The tragedy occurred this Saturday at 1:55 pm when the vehicle, in which the driver and 18 people were traveling, hit a road sign traveling at 60 miles per hour at an intersection in the town of Schoharie.

The limousine ran over several passers-by who were passing the site, killing two of them. After the impact, the vehicle rolled into a ravine, where all those traveling inside it perished.

Amy Steenburg, who was the birthday girl, lost her life along with her sisters Abigail Jackson, Mary Dyson and Allison King. The husbands of the first three Axel Steenburg - and their brother Rich - Adam Jackson and Rob Dyson also passed away.

The victims also included another newly married couple: Erin Vertucci, 34, and Shane McGowan, 30. The presence of both couples in the vehicle sparked initial rumors that the passengers were having a wedding.

According to The New York Times, the birthday girl and her husband were the ones who rented the lumisin and had just married in June this year.

The crash happened in front of the Apple Barrel Country Store and Cafe, whose employees described the accident as "horrible" on their Facebook page.

Meanwhile, the family of Adam and Abby Jackson started a campaign on GoFundMe to raise funds for their 4-year-old daughters Archer and 16-month- old sister Elle, who were orphaned. "Adam and Abby were two wonderful parents for these girls and they were taken from them too soon," said the post published on Monday.

"This investigation involves two vehicles and multiple fatalities," said police captain Richard o'Brien to the local channel New Channel 13.

The vehicle's driver, Scott Lisinicchia, is also among the victims. He was 53 years old.
