A daycare owner was arrested in Mesquite, Texas, on charges of mistreating the children in her care, after police inspected the home where the child care center was staying and discovered nine children tied up and locked up in the dark.

Rebecca Anderson, 60, was detained this Saturday inside Becky's Day Care, the child care center she ran and which is located at 4300 Tamarix Court. The arrest came a day after the police, armed with a search warrant, entered the scene to make the horrible discovery of child abuse.

The facts were revealed when the father of one of the babies - just 6 months old - reviewed the video of a little bed that he had placed in his baby's seat. The man watched as the woman grabbed the baby from her bib and lifted him up from the seat. Then, it was seen how he gave "an unknown substance [to the boy] using a plastic syringe," as quoted in police documents.

The man immediately took the video to police who reviewed the images on Thursday. The next day they showed up at the nursery where they discovered three children tied in their baby seats and locked in the closet in the main room. A minor room was located in another closet under the same conditions. According to reports from the local NBCDFW-5 station, the woman had told police there were only three children, but it was later discovered that there were four more.

Anderson admitted "that he could have administered Tyenol to all the children," according to documents from his arrest, and admitted that he left the children in their child seats for periods of up to 7 continuous hours per day.

Police reported that detectives found "marks like cord ties" on the children's necks and that some of these ties had to be cut in order to free them. The woman admitted that it was she who tied them up to limit their movements.

The old woman is now facing nine charges of endangering the life of a minor and until this Tuesday she remained in a Dallas jail on bail of $ 45,000.
