The survival story of 22-year-old Angela Hernández seems to be taken from a Hollywood movie, since seven days after her family reported that she was missing, the girl was found alive at the bottom of a precipice to which she had fallen with his car while he was traveling along the California coast.
The young woman traveled from the city of Portland, Oregon, to the town of Lancaster in California. As revealed by a CNN report published on her online site, Hernández chose the popular Highway 1 that crosses the Pacific coast of the United States for her tour.
On July 6, her family reported to the authorities that they had lost all communication with Angela, which included a cessation of activity on their social networks, of which she is a frequent user.
Seven days after authorities began searching for the young woman, a couple walking through the Big Sur area in California noticed the presence of a car at the bottom of a precipice. They immediately notified the authorities, who discovered that it was Hernández's white Jeep.
According to Angela's account, after trying to avoid running over an animal, she lost control of her car and fell off the cliff around 250 feet. Fortunately, the girl did not suffer serious injuries, which allowed her to mobilize in the area. The rocky conditions of the place prevented him from being able to return to the highway and he also had no way to communicate to ask for help.
To stay hydrated, the woman used parts of her vehicle's radiator to collect fresh water from a stream that fortunately passed through. In the rescue operation, the authorities had to use climbing equipment to reach the place where she was trapped.
