Last week, the President of the United States, Donald Trump, was visiting the United Kingdom, where he met with Queen Elizabeth II. However, it caused surprise that at no time was there an approach with the other important members of the crown such as the princes Carlos and William; as has happened on other occasions.

"It is very rare that the Queen is alone," a source told the British newspaper The Sunday Times. "Usually she is accompanied by someone."

According to sources in this newspaper, the successor to the crown and his eldest son refused to receive the US President, who, along with his wife Melanie Trump, met with the monarch last Friday for tea. Even this newspaper claims that Prince Philip could have left his retirement to attend the meeting of his own accord.

However, Buckingham Palace spokesmen have assured that it was not a state visit but a business trip; therefore, the agenda marked only a brief meeting with the Queen. It was strange because when Barack Obama was in this country there were longer meetings with the monarch and a private dinner with the Dukes of Cambridge and Prince Henry.

"The larger family was not as enthusiastic about the visit as when they were when Obama arrived," he concluded.

To avoid further speculation, the spokesman for Buckingham Palace has clarified the conditions of the meeting and the absence of other members of the Royal House.

"In line with standard practice for government visits, President [Donald Trump] was received by the Queen as Head of State," the spokesperson explained to People Magazine. "There was never a suggestion that other family members participate."
