The situation experienced by hundreds of undocumented immigrants who have been separated from their children in the United States continues to attract the attention of the entire world, since the drama that families must endure in the midst of the situation continues to generate rejection of all kinds of policies immigration authorities of the country.

Recently, a group of mothers who are being held in the state of Texas shared a letter addressed to the citizens of the United States and in which they beg for help.

Please help us, we are desperate mothers. We are not criminals, but we do need your help,”reads the beginning of the emotional letter that was published in media such as CNN and Univision.

“We came to this country to save our lives and the lives of our children, we were not prepared for the nightmare we are facing here. The US government kidnapped our children with deceit and without the opportunity to fire us,”continues the document signed by 54 undocumented immigrants who are at the Port Isabel Detention Center in the city of Los Fresnos.

“We have not known much about our children for more than a month, where they are living, in places and with unknown people. We have been told that some already live with new families, each day hurts more than the previous one. Many of us have only spoken to our children once. When we have the opportunity to talk to the children (which is very difficult because the social worker never answers), the children cry, do not recognize our voices, and feel abandoned and loveless. This makes us feel dead in life, adds the letter.

The immigration policies implemented by the government of President Donald Trump continue to be the target of criticism of all kinds, especially after reports that have highlighted the pain faced by families when they are separated.
