New details of the endless legal battle between Kesha and Lukasz Gottwald - known in the music industry as Dr. Luke - would reveal that the singer accused her former music producer of also raping her colleague Katy Perry.
For several years, the interpreter of the hit "TiK ToK" has been the subject of controversy after she accused the renowned music executive of having sexually abused her. In 2014, she sued Luke, claiming that he drugged and abused her, in addition to verbally and psychologically mistreating her for more than ten years. In 2016, a judge dismissed the singer's charges.
Luke then struck back with a libel lawsuit against the pop star, with whom he claims to have never had sexual encounters of any kind and who he says he regarded as a younger sister.
According to case documents obtained by People magazine, the producer's legal team includes a section in which he assures that Kesha falsely expressed to Lady Gaga that Luke had not only raped her, but also his colleague Katy Perry, with whom the executive worked on songs like "I Kissed a Girl," "Teenage Dream" and "Roar."
"In February 2016, [Kesha] texted Stefani Germanotta [Gaga], falsely repeating that Gottwald raped her … In these messages she also falsely claimed that Gottwald also raped Kathryn Hudson [Perry]," reads part of the documents.
Kesha's allegations have once again become relevant with the massive Time's Up and Me Too movements, with which multiple women in the entertainment industry have also revealed to have been victims of abuse.
In 2017, the singer released her third album, Rainbow, which included her hit "Praying," theme and lyrics that many of her fans have said are dedicated to Dr. Luke.
