Cynthia Marie Randolph, 25, was sentenced to 20 years in prison for the death of her two children. The young woman admitted that she went to smoke marijuana and fell asleep for several hours, leaving her babies locked in a car in the Texas heat.
Randolph left his sons Cavanaugh and Juliet Ramírez, ages 1 and 2, punished inside a car in May 2017, killing them from excess heat. After being arrested, she confessed that she left them there punished while she entered her house to smoke marijuana, watch television and take a long nap.
As reported by Star Telegram, the mother watched the reality show Keeping Up With the Kardashians as the children drowned in heat in the car. Randolph first told police that the babies were playing in the yard and she found them passed out inside the car when she went looking for them.
Then she confessed that she wanted to “give a lesson” to the 2-year-old girl who did not want to get out of the car and who thought that the little girl would get out of the car with her 16-month-old brother. A Weatherford jury sentenced the woman to 20 years in prison for the death of each child and will serve the sentences simultaneously, according to court documents.
