A man who posed as an Uber driver is now behind bars accused of raping and abusing two young girls in Georgia.

Emerson Redd, 57, was detained this Saturday morning in the city of Athens after complaints were received by two Athens-Clark County police who claimed to have been attacked the same day and one hour apart., by a type whose description matched.

According to a message posted on facebook by that office, the first incident occurred on Friday at 1:15 am local time, when a 21-year-old student got into Redd's car, mistaking it for the Uber she expected. The young woman began to suspect that something was wrong when she realized that there was no GPS system in the vehicle. According to the victim, the man touched her inappropriately, but let her go when she demanded that he release her.

An hour later, a second victim got into Redd's car, again under the deception that it was an Uber car. The victim implored to be released, but was raped before being released.

Jerry Saulters, the first victim of the subject, was the one that according to the police made the first report of rape and was crucial in the capture because during the journey he was able to photograph his attacker with his phone.

Thanks to these photos, which were circulated by the police among their staff, a traffic officer was able to identify Redd from a previous road incident and the arrest occurred.

According to the official Athens-Clarke police website, the man is now being held in the county jail without bail and faces one count of rape.
