After numerous unsuccessful attempts at parenting, a Tennessee couple went to an embryo donation center, and thanks to a frozen twenty-five-year-old embryo, they became parents to a beautiful, healthy baby girl they named Emma.

In the United States, there is no anonymity law for people who want to donate embryos, so the couple considered two options. The first attempt failed, but the second option was successful. What they did not know is that the embryo had been frozen for 25 years. The couple found out through embryologist Carol Sommerfelt of the United States National Embryo Donation Center. "Do you realize that I am 25 years old?" Said the woman to the doctor. The embryo and I could have been best friends, "the young woman asked her doctor. "I just wanted to have a baby, I don't care if it's a world record or not."

Emma's mother is 26 years old and in an interview with CNN she confessed that it was very exciting for her that all this had happened to her and her partner.

The embryo Emma was born from was fertilized by IVF by a couple who left four freezing embryos available to couples who were unable to have children.
