The heartbreaking images of the fires that are ravaging Southern California have rocked public opinion. At least 4 major fires in Los Angeles, San Bernardino and Ventura counties have evicted nearly 200,000 people and damaged hundreds of homes and buildings.

And just from Ventura County comes a video that has rocked the networks as a demonstration of compassion and affection for animals.

Broadcast by virtually every local and national television station, the video shows an individual walking alongside huge flames on County Highway 1 to save a bunny caught in the fire.

In the clip you can see how the man, dressed in a sweatshirt and shorts, tries to save the wild animal by yelling and trying to get his attention, until he convinces him to come to him. Immediately afterwards, the man tucks the bunny and walks surprised, protecting him.

The anonymous hero was caught at the foot of the so-called "Thomas Fire", the largest of all fires that continue to burn out of control. According to a map published by The New York Times, the fire is located between the Pacific coast and the city of Ojai, south of Santa Barbara.

Thomas has charred 90,000 acres in northern Ventura County, which has 110,000 residents. According to the Times, the flames have already reached Highway 101 and are now en route north to Santa Barbara.

This Thursday it became known that celebrities such as Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, Eva Longoria, Paris Hilton and Gwyneth Paltrow have been affected by the fires. In some cases, such as that of the millionaire heiress and deejay, they have had to vacate their homes.
