Bus Driver Rescues A Baby From The Highway

A bus driver in Milwaukee rescued a baby girl who found herself alone near a highway. The video has gone viral and has moved many after being played by multiple media such as ABC News. Irena Ivic told WLS that she saw the girl under the age of 1 running by the side of a bridge near the highway. The girl was dressed in a diaper and baby bodysuit.

"OMG I was so affected. I couldn't believe that someone could have left a girl on the street, "Ivic told WLS. "The baby was so scared and crying. She did not know what to do or where to go."

The video of the incident shows Ivic worried stopping the bus and picking up the little girl. When he returned to the bus with the girl in his arms, the driver told the passengers: "I am shaking." A passenger took off her jacket to cover the girl. The little girl fell asleep in Ivic's arms.

According to authorities, they found the girl safe and undamaged. Police told WISN that the baby's mother had left her out during a crisis of the mother's mental illness. The baby was returned to her father Hasan Ali Abdul Kasim, who said his wife wanted to take the girl to church the morning of the incident. The father told WITI, the mother probably forgot about the girl because she has a mental illness. The driver undoubtedly saved the baby from grave danger.
