A Pennsylvania woman was arrested on charges of killing her newborn baby and hiding her body after her own father found her dead little body in a garbage bag outside her home.

According to The Morning Call, Sunday afternoon 23-year-old Brittany Robinson's father was decorating her home for Christmas when she discovered a dead boy in the trash can located on a porch at the back of his house.

When questioned, the woman told investigators that she did not know she was pregnant until after she gave birth to the baby in her bathtub on Friday. According to her account, after having the 7-pound, 19-inch baby, she was unable to detect her pulse and did not feel her heartbeat either, so she decided to place her little body in a drawer in her dresser.

The next morning, he checked it again and when he allegedly confirmed that it was lifeless, he placed it in a garbage bag and threw it away.

Multiple reports state that no one who lived in the same residence as Robinson knew that she was pregnant. But police have said they have evidence that she did know.

Robinson made his first appearance in court on Tuesday, where he was charged with criminal manslaughter, covering up the death of a child, abusing the body and tampering with evidence.

It is not yet known whether he will plead guilty or whether he will hire a lawyer for his defense.
