Nick Carter Accused Of Rape

The flood of accusations of sexual abuse and harassment among celebrities does not seem to subside. Now it's the turn of Backstreet Boys singer Nick Carter, who was accused of raping singer Melissa Schuman, when she was 18 and he was 22.

The singer - who is currently 33 years old - revealed on her personal blog that the events happened 15 years ago, when she was part of the youth group Dream. Carter allegedly invited her to her house on a day off from filming a movie they were working on together.

There, her host began to kiss her, but she asked him to stop because he did not want to go further. However, according to Schuman, the singer ignored him and unbuttoned his pants for oral sex.

Carter then removed his pants and placed the young woman's hand on his manly limb, demanding that she do the same. She assures that he continued imploring her to stop, but that he took her to his room, where he finally raped her.

"He threw me on his bed and climbed on me," Schuman said. “I told him that I was a virgin and that I didn't want to have sex. I told her that I was expecting my husband in the future. I told him and repeated it to him. He whispered to me 'I could be your husband', to seduce me,”she assured.

Schuman says that he tried to reveal what happened to the artist's manager, but that he surrendered to Carter's power and money. "I quickly lost interest in pursuing a career as a singer," he said in his confession. "It was broken. Tired traumatized”.

Carter responded to the allegations Wednesday in a statement sent to People. “I am shocked and saddened by Ms. Schuman's accusations. Melissa never expressed to me while we were together or at any other time that anything we did was not consensual,”she assured.

"We kept recording a song and playing together, and I was always respectful," continued the artist, who is currently 37 years old. "I support Melissa both personally and professionally."

The Backstreet Boy assured that it is "the first time" that hears these allegations, almost two decades later. "It is contrary to my nature and everything I appreciate to intentionally cause someone discomfort or harm."
