Shortly thereafter, Mapleton Police Chief John Jackson confirmed in a statement in the networks that it was a case of murder and suicide.

"Timothy used two weapons and they were both found at the scene," Jackson said in the statement. “It appears that he used one to murder his family and a different one to commit suicide. Investigators have found out that Timothy purchased two firearms [from a local shop] last September.”
Those responsible for the case concluded that it was a case of murder and suicide due to the positions in which the bodies were found, the location of the weapons, the indications of the movements that occurred in the house before the tragedy and forensic examinations.
