Mara Salvatrucha Gang Members Recorded Murder

This Tuesday, 10 of those harassed for participating in the murder of the fifteen-year-old Damaris A. Reyes Rivas last January, were indicted by a Virginia judge.

Wilmer A. Sánchez Serrano, 22, and other members of the MS-13 gang recorded the atrocity while torturing and stabbing the young woman in a town near Washington, DC, the US capital.

The recordings were shown by the judge in the courtroom before members of the jury and relatives of the young woman before he gave his verdict. In the videos, Damaris was shown walking through a forest with other gang members of the same gang, who took her to reprimand her for the death of Christian Sosa Rivas, also a member of MS-13, and had a romantic relationship with the quinceañera. The gang members believed that Damaris had something to do with Sosa's death.

In the recordings, dated February 8, you can see, according to The Washington Post, how they made fun of her, pecked her with a knife and stabbed her with a pointed stake. Ten people between the ages of 15 and 21 were arrested for the kidnapping and murder of the young woman.

They also told him that he was going to die to pay for the death of another gang member, his partner, Christian. The girl's mother has said that her daughter had dated Sosa Rivas before her death.

The suspects left the girl's body lying on the ground of a Springfield park, where she was found on February 11. The authorities believe that these violent incidents could be linked to an increase in activity of the Mara Salvatrucha, the most violent and numerous gang in that region of Latin American origin.
