The shocking story of a 3-year-old girl who had allegedly disappeared in Texas after allegedly being punished by leaving her outside her home for not drinking milk took a new turn on Monday.

The minor's father, Wesley Mathews, confessed that the girl drowned when he gave her the milk to drink and it was he who disposed of her body that appeared this Sunday in a drain.

The shocking confession came after weeks in which the public remained on edge following Sherin Mathews' disappearance on October 7 in Richardson County.

Police in the Dallas County town had reported that the girl was last seen on October 14 when, according to the father, she was punished for not drinking milk. The punishment was for her to stand in the backyard of her house, which faces an alley. It was 3 am.

This Monday, Mathews changed the version to reveal that the girl was drinking her milk in the garage of the house and that he wanted to "help her" because "he was not paying attention to her."
