Hillsborough County, Florida, agents arrested a 33-year-old man and his parents, who were reported to have traveled from India to help him beat up his wife.

According to the Tampa Bay Times, authorities discovered that Silky Gaind, 33, had been beaten for an "extended period of time" by her husband Debvir Kalsi, as well as her in-laws, Jasbir Kalsi, 67, and Bhupinder Kalsi, 61.

According to the authorities, the Kalsi couple traveled from their country expressly to advise their son on how to "discipline" his wife, who was being "disobedient".

Last Friday, the younger couple started arguing and Debvir started hitting his wife. When she tried to defend herself, the in-laws joined in the beating that bruised her face, neck, and torso. The assault reached the point that her father-in-law threatened her with a kitchen knife.

Amid this alleged environment of violence was the couple's 1-year-old daughter, who was also accidentally injured.

Apparently it was the neighbors who, upon hearing the screams of the attacked woman, called 911. When the police arrived, the Kalsi refused to open the door, but the alleged victim was able to scream for help. The officers then pushed open the door and discovered the woman was beaten almost all over her body, according to authorities.

Now the three alleged assailants face charges of illegally holding a person, child abuse, physical assault, and denial of access to the authorities. All three remain in detention without bail.
