More than unusual, the story of Justin and Margaret Mussel seems incredible, since they never expected that during a vacation in Italy they would find a precious object that they had lost exactly 9 years ago, their engagement ring.

As revealed by Travel and Leisure magazine on their online site, the New Jersey couple would have experienced a sad moment in 2006, when on their honeymoon in the historic city of Pompeii, Margaret lost her precious engagement ring. "I felt really bad knowing that I was able to prevent him from falling, but I was wearing it all day," Margaret revealed to ABC.

Just as fate played a trick on them, 9 years later the couple experienced one of the most special moments of their relationship. The two traveled again to the same Italian location and stayed in the same place, but this time accompanied by their two children.

During his stay, something caught the eye of Justin, who saw a small flash of light in a crack in the street pavement. Screwdriver in hand, the now father of two decided to unveil the mystery of that blaze. Minutes later, he couldn't believe that brilliance radiated from the ring they had lost years ago and that he and his wife had forgotten.

"It was covered in grime but I could still see the diamond," Justin explained in an interview with USA Today. Since then, the absent-minded mother has not removed her jewel. "If you saw it, you wouldn't think it has been in a rift for nine years," added the lucky wife.
