Customs officials in Shenzhen, China captured a woman trying to smuggle more than 100 iPhones into the country earlier this month.

According to local media, officials found that the woman, who came from Hong Kong, had 102 iPhones strapped to her body after determining that she was wearing "more clothing than appropriate." Judging by the images supplied by the Kotaku website, the woman had four layers of cell phones around her torso and waist secured with plastic and rubber bands.

According to the report, when authorities discovered the layers of phones tied to his torso and waist they found that he also wore 15 luxury watches.

According to Apple Insider, which previously reported on the incident, the woman was trying to smuggle more than 42 pounds of merchandise when she was arrested.

Smuggling into China is nothing new, and customs officials have been trained to identify things that might be out of the norm. The Chinese government has considered smuggling such a problem that it has launched initiatives to end the practice.

While it is unclear why the woman wanted to smuggle the phones in and what her final destination was, the iPhones that were confiscated are already being legally sold in the company's retail stores.

Interestingly, the number of artifacts confiscated from this woman has not been the largest that Chinese officials have found in a suspected smuggler. According to a Kotaku report, in 2015 a man was captured in China with 146 iPhones strapped to his body.
