Kindergarten Teacher Kidnaps Minor To Do Pornography

Melvyn Sprowson, 48, was sentenced to spend his life in prison last Monday after being found guilty of kidnapping a minor for creating a pornography for two months in his apartment.

According to a report by People magazine on its online site, the man, who served as a teacher of a kindergarten in the city of Las Vegas, could apply for the possibility of parole when he turns 12 years of his sentence, according to the opinion given by judge Stefany Miley.

The teacher would have met the 16-year-old girl through the Craigslist classifieds portal. After the two made contact, the man began to ask the minor to send her photographs wearing very little clothing.

The young woman's mother discovered her relationship with Sprowson and forbade her from having any contact with him. According to the same defendant, his plan was to keep the girl in captivity until she was old enough for them to marry.

The man was charged with four charges, including the use of a minor in a pornographic production, kidnapping and child abuse. Additional information of the case shared by the Las Vegas Review-Journal assures that during the hearing in which his sentence was pronounced, Sprowson told the judge in charge of the case that he was still in love with the victim.

"This is an adult man who lies, manipulates and thinks like a child," the victim's grandmother shared during the trial. "I think [if released] I would do the same to another young man," he added.

During the trial against him, Sprowson pleaded not guilty to all charges against him.
