As British authorities try to discover the reason and more details about the terrorist attack that took place in front of a London mosque this weekend, the British Prime Minister, Theresa May, gave a press conference to condemn him, at the same time who indicated that it was addressed to Muslims and described it as "something disgusting".

As reported by the BBC, yesterday morning a man ran over a group of passers-by who were in front of the Finsbury Park mosque, in what has been identified as the fourth terrorist attack in this city in three months, leaving a balance so far 9 injured and one dead.

After investing the pedestrians with his van, the suspect - whom Scotland Yard has already identified as Darren Osborne - was neutralized by other people, who detained him while elements of the police arrived. He was then transferred to a nearby hospital where he is apparently still being held as a preventive measure.

Authorities also reported that Osborne, a 47-year-old Briton and father of four, acted alone.

"Once again this was an attack that attacked civilians, the innocent in their daily lives, this time against British Muslims, as they left a mosque, when they finished their fast and prayed together at this holy time of the year," May said. The minister stressed that the act had been perpetrated in order to divide her country and destroy the ties of solidarity that exist between its citizens.

For his part, Sadiq Khan, the first Muslim to be elected mayor of London, tried to unite people with these statements: “Although this appears to be an attack on a specific community, such as the terrible attacks on Manchester, Westminster and the Bridge of London was also an attack on all our shared values of tolerance, freedom and respect, "he said. "As this situation continues to unfold, I ask all Londoners to remain calm and vigilant."
