The Singer's Son Could Go To Jail

This afternoon the son of Pepe Aguilar, José Emiliano Aguilar, pleaded guilty to the crime of trafficking in undocumented immigrants, as reported by the program El gordo y la flaca (Univision).

It was in March that the young man was detained while trying to enter four undocumented Chinese individuals into the United States. The arrest was made after a canine noticed that something was wrong inside the young man's car when he was trying to cross the border between Mexico and the United States. It was there that border agents found two women and two men inside the trunk of José Emiliano's car.

Each of the undocumented immigrants would pay the singer's son, who is a US citizen, between $ 3,000 and $ 6,000 if they successfully crossed the border. José Emiliano initially pleaded not guilty, his family posted a $ 15,000 bond, and he was released. “The Aguilar family appreciates all the love and support shown by thousands of people in the United States, Mexico and around the world. They remain strong and united, while supporting José Emiliano. They thank everyone for the support and understanding as the case progresses,”his lawyer told the press at the time.

The young man will be able to continue living in his mother's house until the next hearing is held, where he will be sentenced. Apparently this arrangement between the prosecution and the Aguilar family attorneys was made to avoid a trial. According to legal experts, at the hearing to be held the young man will surely be sentenced to a few months in prison.
