Sadness, confusion and uncertainty have been brought to bear with all their weight on Shannaya Jenkins-Hernández, who at 26 years old has to endure the suicide of her fiancé, Aarón Hernández, and live with the doubts of what led to the former player of the NFL to kill himself last April.

The young woman, who recently gave an exclusive interview to Dr. Phil's program, confessed that she questioned the suicide of the player, who was found lifeless and with a sheet around his neck, the morning of April 19 in his cell in the Souza-Baranowski prison, in the town of Shirley, in Massachusetts.

"I don't think it was suicide," the girl said through tears during the touching interview that was broadcast in two parts. "I don't even know what to believe anymore."

He had bible verses written on his forehead and had left 3 suicide notes for his family, including one for his 4-year-old daughter, Janelle Avielle Hernández.

“At first I thought it was a joke. I thought he was a cruel person… he wanted to play a bad joke on me,”Jenkins told Dr. Phil about the moment he learned of the 27-year-old's death.
