In the cell where former New England Patriots player Aaron Hernandez killed himself, three notes were found, apparently written apparently by the inmate.

This was revealed by spokesmen from the Worcester, Massachusetts District Attorney's office, in a statement reporting that forensics confirmed that the 27-year-old committed suicide by hanging himself.

According to the prosecution, investigators assigned to the case found three posthumous notes located next to a Bible in the athlete's cell in Souza-Baranowski prison, where he was serving a life sentence for murder.

One of the notes was addressed to the public, the rest were private and intended for particular people, according to TMZ.

"There were no signs of struggle, the investigators determined that Mr. Hernández was alone when he hung up," the prosecution said in the statement.

Investigators also found pieces of cardboard that Hernández used to jam the door, in order to "prevent them from entering the cell."

Hernández's body was found shortly after 3:00 am Wednesday hanging with a gallows made from some sheet.

On Thursday it was learned that the former player had a verse from the Gospels written on his forehead, "John 3:16". That verse reads: "Because God loved the world so much that he gave his only begotten Son, so that everyone who has faith in him may not perish but have eternal life." That same passage was on the open Bible page on the inmate's bed.

The player's brain, which has been speculated to appear to be some kind of disorder, will be sent to the Center for the Study of Alzheimer's Disease at Boston University. This is the wish of the family, which has requested an investigation into the death of the excuser.
