A baby playing in a walker was savagely attacked by a pit bull and died of his injuries to his mother's helplessness.
The incident occurred around 1:00 pm, at an address located in Brilliant Prairie Court, in the North Valley area of Las Vegas, Nevada.
According to Laura Meltzer, a spokeswoman for the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police, the boy was simply playing near the pit bull dog when it, for no apparent reason, attacked him.
"The baby's mother managed to stop the attack, but the baby had already suffered considerable injuries," said the woman.
According to reports from the Las Vegas Review-Journal, the victim's mother was the only person present in the home at the time of the events and traveled with her son in an ambulance to the Centennial Hills Hospital medical center, where the boy was officially declared dead..
"It is really a real tragedy," said the spokesman for the same agency, Larry Hadfield, from the scene of the incident.
