Paul Pereira, a UPS driver rescued a family from a fire in Haverill, Massachusetts, this week.
Pereira was on his last delivery of the day on Monday when he saw that the garage of a house was engulfed in flames. "I just ran out, knocked on the door, and said to the people in the house, 'Your house is on fire!'" The delivery man told ABC News.
The home owner, Brian Lavender, for his part stated that his wife and daughter were inside the house at the time, however, they but thought that the smell was a neighbor using a grill.
In a cell phone video, Pereira can be seen facing the flames trying to extinguish them with a garden hose. The delivery man managed to put out the fire before the fire department arrived. "I didn't realize how big the flames were until I saw the video," Pereira told WCVB. "I don't feel like a hero. I think anyone would if they saw a fire."
