What we were missing: Now there are even emojis to help people go to the bathroom! This is The Poop Troop, the first complete set of emojis with drawings of … well, what "the body does".
But the mission of this new suite of emojis goes beyond making us laugh, because what it really seeks is to help people better express the emotional and physical impact that chronic ideopathic constipation (CIC) can have..
CIC is one of the most common functional disorders among gastrointestinal conditions worldwide. In the United States alone, it affects approximately 33 million Americans.
Bowel movements can be a sensitive topic for people living with CIC to discuss; it often leaves them feeling a lack of validation…,”explained Synergy Pharmaceuticals, the pharmaceutical company that has just launched them onto the market.
Inspired by the popularity of emojis in everyday conversations, the company Synergy Pharmaceuticals introduced the application that represents different types of bowel movements ranging from constipation, to natural "discharges" and even diarrhea.
The suite is made up of 14 drawings, which also bring the emotions that people with digestive problems often face, such as: "stressed", "relieved", "surprised", "worried" … and embarrassed ", among others.
The Poop Troop emoji keyboard app for iOS and Android can be downloaded for free from the Apple App Store and the Google Play app store.
