A brave 8-year-old girl from Irving, Texas is causing a stir on the Internet after stopping halfway through a run during training - to eat a snack. But everything did not stop there, because her cousin shared the moment through Twitter and Internet users quickly went viral.

According to Buzzfeed, Briseyda Ponce, 17, was about to jog when her cousin, Allysson Baires, asked if he could accompany her.

The little girl later revealed to Briseyda that she wanted to exercise because some children at school - among them a boy who liked her - had called her fat. It was around this time that Briseyda assumed the role of protective older sister and told Allysson to ignore those intimidating comments.

"I explained to her that beauty is not physical, and if she wants to exercise, run, it has to be because she wants to be healthy, not because of the opinions of others about her body," Briseyda told Buzzfeed. "We laugh".

Briseyda recalls that they stopped running and paused for Allyson to eat a Rice Crispies snack. The teenager started laughing hysterically and took some photos of her cousin enjoying the snack and then posting them on Twitter.

"The girls in her class and the boy she likes, Hector, called her fat, so she told me to take her for a run, but in the middle of the race she took out a sandwich," Bryseyda captioned the images. The tweet was followed by thousands of comments with messages of support for the girl.
