Amy Krouse Rosenthal has dedicated her life to writing wonderful children's stories. But, without a doubt, the most emotional and difficult of all was just written this week under the title You should marry my husband. Her terminal ovarian cancer has prompted her to write this article to introduce her husband to his future wife.
She knows her days are numbered and she wants her husband to soon find another soul mate with whom to share his life. “I have been married to the most wonderful man for 26 years. I planned for at least 26 more years,”she says in this writing published by The New York Times.
The writer tells how her visit to the emergency room thinking that her pain was a simple appendicitis ended in a drama. Cancer has completely changed her life plans and she does not want her husband to be alone or unhappy.
Throughout her writing Amy lists the characteristics of her partner with infinite love. “If our home were to speak, I would add that Jason is amazingly skilled,” she explains and continues. "If you're looking for a dream travel companion with an enthusiastic spirit, Jason is ideal."
Lover of music and painting, Jason is above all loving and thoughtful. “That's the kind of man Jason is: He came in on the ultrasound of our first flower pregnancy. He is the type of man who, since he always wakes up early, surprises me on Sunday mornings by making happy faces with something that is near the coffee maker: a spoon, a cup, a banana”.
Amy feels lucky to have been with him for almost three decades and to share three wonderful children. But her book of life comes to an end and she wishes with all her soul that her husband continue writing many pages.
This emotional note was written on Valentine's Day with the hope of receiving the best gift of all. "Let the right person read this, meet Jason, and another new love story makes its way."
His dream is on the way because this impressive article has spread across the networks and millions of people have already read it. Hopefully Amy's dream comes true.
