Young Pregnant Woman Murdered

Fresno, California police are investigating the shooting murder of a young pregnant woman last weekend while sleeping with her 4-month-old baby in her apartment.

The woman, who was shot in the upper body, has not ruled out that a gang was involved.

Police revealed Monday that several people were in Amber Baker's home when she was shot dead, making investigators one of the priorities of the case trying to locate each of them. The victim's older sister, Cassie Baker, said there would be seven.

People pointed out that in the crime committed against the 6-week-pregnant woman on Sunday, the 4-month-old baby was unhurt.

The sister told The Fresno Bee newspaper that on Saturday night the victim invited a group of friends to the apartment where she lived with her son, she and three other women. However, during the evening, the two sisters faced each other in a strong argument, so Cassie left, leaving her sister alone with her guests.

The next morning, one of her housemates discovered the 20-year-old young mother lying next to her child, and called her sister to give her the sad news.

The young woman's father, Vance Baker, told People that they are very sad, angry and confused. “We can't even focus on anything other than Amber. And this sad death of my daughter is very unfair."

Fresto police have requested that any leads to help them solve this crime be passed on to them.
