In a macabre and unusual event, a dispute between a man and his partner ended.

Luis Arroyo Arroyo, the alleged aggressor, was arrested after physically assaulting his partner and then lashing out at her pet, a Chihuahua puppy that he beheaded in the midst of his rage attack.

According to a report by the Puerto Rican newspaper El Nuevo Día, the incident occurred in the small municipality of Lares, where authorities arrested the 40-year-old man.

Although information on the causes of the terrible event is unknown, shared details assure that Arroyo gave multiple punches to his partner, 38, in different parts of the body before the deadly attack on the puppy.

Commander David Andújar, who is part of the team in charge of the investigation, reportedly said that the man is in detention facing charges of domestic violence and animal abuse.

After his arrest and before the accusations he faces, Judge Mirna Pérez imposed a bail for him from the Las Cucharas correctional facility in the city of Ponce.
